A rare opportunity to visit the Police Coast Guard
npcc8.jpgOverseas educational visit to Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City
The NPCC unit visited Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh city) for an overseas immersion programme in October 2017. The trip aimed to provide opportunities for cadets to develop global awareness and cross-cultural skills and sensitivities through a visit to a Police College and a local school - Maison Chance. Through the visit to the Maison Chance Primary School and the Police College, students learnt how fortunate they are to be given the opportunity to learn in a real world and to apply life skills and imbue values. Through making observations and gaining experiences of hardships (e.g. seating in wooden tables and chairs/ using the Blackboard for teaching and learning) their counterparts undergo on a daily basis, students learnt to be more resilient and appreciative. Living the experience not only made it easier for students to understand better but also made it more enjoyable and fun.
