Professional Development for CCE: facilitation workshop
Exploring the HeART of CCE (Sec)
As part of Student Development Curriculum Division (SDCD) overall support to all secondary schools in building the capacity of teachers in CCE, all JWSS teaching staff attended a course entitled ‘Exploring the HeART of CCE.’ This course, pitched at the Proficient level in the SkillsFuture for Educators (SFEd) framework, covers the fundamentals that teachers need in order to conduct CCE effectively in the classroom, including the facilitation of discussions on contemporary issues.
Every Teacher a CCE Teacher
This course comprised of 1.5 days of synchronous learning, complemented with asynchronous components. SDCD officers, served as chief facilitators, working with CCE Key Personnel and Specialized CCE Teachers to facilitate small group discussions with their colleagues using resources provided by SDCD. This approach is designed to provide schools with the opportunity to contextualise the learning to their student profile.

- sharpen competencies and convictions as a CCE teacher
- experience a process-oriented approach to reframe assessment for students’ character growth and development
- understands the central concepts in CCE, and the pedagogical principles and teaching approaches to engage students in learning
